CLASSIFICATION: Botanical Sculpture STYLE: Greco-Roman Revival FINISH: Hand-Applied Moss Terracotta DIMENSIONS: 11" W x 17.75" H ROLE: The Silent Observer
Standard planters are functional; this planter is a presence. It brings the stoic gravity of a museum wing directly into your living room.
Sculpted in the likeness of a classical figure, this vessel stands nearly 18 inches tall—a commanding, life-sized scale that refuses to be ignored. The finish is a masterclass in faux-aging: a hand-applied "moss terracotta" patina that mimics the specific weathering of stone that has spent centuries sitting under a forgotten Italian pergola.
It does not merely hold a plant; it creates a dialogue between the permanence of the stone visage and the ephemeral nature of the foliage sprouting from it. It is an artifact that judges the rest of your decor, and usually finds it wanting.

THE CURATOR'S NOTES
- The "Living" Hairstyle: The open cavity allows you to act as the barber. Plant a trailing String of Pearls for a regal, curly coiffure, or a Fern for a wild, philosopher’s mane. The plant completes the sculpture.
- The Patina Strategy: The finish is deliberately imperfect. It features the green/grey mottling of natural moss growth, providing an instant sense of history to a new build. It looks excavated rather than purchased.
- The Scale: Critical. Do not underestimate 17.75 inches. This is not a small shelf accent. It is large enough to anchor a pedestal, a dining buffet, or a floor display.
- The Gaze: The eyes are blank and sculpted, providing that unnerving, classic "museum stare" that adds instant intellectual weight to a room.
