CLASSIFICATION: Soft Sculpture Kit SUBJECT: Mustela erminea (Winter Coat) PROVENANCE: Fabricated in Ukraine MATERIALS: Ashford Wool (NZ) | Czech Glass ROLE: The Royal Companion
The ermine is not merely a weasel; it is a symbol of aristocracy. Historically prized for its pristine white winter coat, it has adorned the robes of kings and magistrates for centuries.
This kit allows you to construct your own specimen of this regal predator without the ethical complications of the fur trade. Using high-grade New Zealand Ashford wool, you will sculpt the sleek, sinuous form of the ermine in its winter phase—pure white, with the signature black-tipped tail that defines the species.
It is a project of international collaboration and textile engineering. It results in a creature that possesses all the elegance of a royal companion, with none of the predatory instincts.

THE CURATOR'S NOTES
- Global Supply Chain: This is a cosmopolitan kit. It features premium wool from the Ashford mills of New Zealand, optical-grade glass beads from Preciosa Ornela in the Czech Republic, and is ethically collated and designed in Ukraine.
- Structural Engineering: The kit includes a wire armature. This is not a floppy beanbag; it is a poseable sculpture. You build the skeleton first, then flesh it out with fiber, allowing for a realistic, alert posture.
- The Scale: At nearly 10 inches in length (9.84"), this is a substantial display piece. It is perfectly scaled to wind its way through a winter table centerpiece or sit watch on a bookshelf.
- Fine Detail: Includes monofilament (fishing line) to recreate the delicate whiskers. It is these small anatomical accuracies that separate a "toy" from a "specimen."
- The Inventory: Comprehensive inclusion of New Zealand wool, felting needles, wire infrastructure, glass eyes, and detailed architectural plans.
