CLASSIFICATION: Hand-Woven Textile PROVENANCE: Xela, Guatemala TECHNIQUE: Traditional Footloom PALETTE: Emerald | Royal Blue | Peach | Blush ROLE: The Chromatic Balancer
Color theory teaches us that warm and cool tones are natural enemies. The 'Lola' cloth forces them into a beautiful truce.
Meticulously handwoven in Xela, Guatemala, this textile executes a daring plaid that interlocks soft, inviting shades of Blush Pink and Warm Peach with the hard, regal authority of Emerald Green and Royal Blue. It is a woven contradiction—simultaneously gentle and aggressive.
It rejects the safety of the monochrome bathroom. It introduces a vibrating, complex grid that energizes the space, proving that a utilitarian object can also be a study in chromatic tension.

THE CURATOR'S NOTES
- The Palette Strategy: This is a high-risk, high-reward combination. The Emerald and Royal Blue provide the visual weight, anchoring the airy Peach tones. It allows the towel to work in both dark, moody kitchens and bright, airy baths.
- Mechanical Density: Woven on a human-powered footloom, the fabric possesses a structural integrity that mass-market loops lack. It feels substantial, like a tool rather than a rag.
- Hydrophilic Engineering: The cotton is chosen for work. It is designed to absorb moisture rapidly. As with all true loom-work, the fibers will relax and "bloom" after the initial wash, maximizing utility.
- Visual Texture: The intersection of the dyed yarns creates secondary colors within the weave, adding a depth that printed patterns can never achieve.
