CLASSIFICATION: Hand-Woven Textile PROVENANCE: Xela, Guatemala TECHNIQUE: Traditional Footloom PALETTE: Cranberry | Raspberry | Ivory ROLE: The Warm Gradient
Red is a dangerous color in interior design. Done poorly, it looks like a candy cane. Done correctly, it is the colour of warmth and vitality.
The 'Elina' cloth executes the latter. Meticulously handwoven in Xela, Guatemala, it rejects the flat, uniform red of factory production in favor of a complex, linear gradient. By interweaving rich Cranberry, vibrant Raspberry, and pristine Ivory, the artisans create a textile that possesses visual movement and depth.
It is a timeless, structural stripe that feels established rather than seasonal. It brings a necessary flush of warmth to the sterile white surfaces of the modern bath or kitchen.

THE CURATOR'S NOTES
- The Chromatic Layering: The genius lies in the mix of reds. By blending deep Cranberry with brighter Raspberry, the textile avoids looking "flat." It vibrates with a rich, organic saturation that changes depending on the light.
- Mechanical Density: Woven on a human-powered footloom, the thread count is tighter and more structural than mass-market weaves. It feels heavy in the hand—a tool for drying, not just a decoration.
- The Ivory Anchor: The use of Natural Ivory rather than bleached white is critical. It softens the contrast, ensuring the towel looks elegant and vintage rather than harsh and graphic.
- Hydrophilic Utility: Do not be afraid to use it. The cotton fibers are engineered to absorb. They will soften and "bloom" after the first wash, becoming more efficient with age.
