Travertine Footed Charcuterie Board
CLASSIFICATION: Geological Service Platform MATERIAL: Raw Travertine (Honed) DIMENSIONS: 12" L x 4" W (Linear) ROLE: The Elevated Stage
A flat serving platter is a missed opportunity. To truly honor a selection of artisanal cheese or charcuterie, one must elevate it—literally.
Crafted from solid natural travertine, this footed board functions as an architectural plinth for the table. It lifts the offering off the surface, creating a shadow line and a sense of occasion. It transforms a simple row of appetizers into a sequence of monuments.
The material is significant. Travertine is the stone that built Rome. It possesses a porous, organic texture and a visual weight that plastic or bamboo can never replicate. It is a slice of the earth, honed for service.

THE CURATOR'S NOTES
- Thermal Dynamics: Stone possesses high thermal mass. If chilled in the refrigerator prior to service, this plinth will maintain a low temperature, keeping soft cheeses or chocolates firm and cool for the duration of the evening.
- Geological Variance: This is a natural product, not a resin cast. Each piece carries the specific veining, pitting, and color shifts of the quarry from which it was cut. No two are identical.
- The Linear Format: At 12 inches long and 4 inches wide, the proportions are narrow and elegant. It is designed for a linear progression of flavors—a "flight" of cheeses or a curated row of distinct bites.
- The Footed Lift: The raised design clears the clutter of the table. It separates the food from the silverware and napkins, giving it a dedicated, sacred space.
