CLASSIFICATION: Architectural Planter MATERIAL: Cast Cement FINISH: Matte Obsidian | Knotted Relief DIMENSIONS: 6.25" H x 6" Dia ROLE: The Dark Foundation
Glass vases are fragile; cement is permanent. This vessel operates on the principle that a planter should have as much structural integrity as the building it occupies.
Cast in heavy cement and finished in a deep, matte black, it rejects the glossy "prettiness" of standard decor. It features a distinct knotted relief texture—a tactile surface that feels excavated rather than manufactured.
It is designed to act as a dark, heavy anchor. When paired with the bright green of a trailing vine or a succulent, it creates a high-contrast vignette that feels modern, industrial, and deliberately heavy.

THE CURATOR'S NOTES
- Material Density: This is cement. It possesses physical gravity. It will not tip over under the weight of a heavy fern or a leaning stack of books. It sits where you put it.
- The "Knot" Texture: The surface detail is not painted on; it is cast into the material. It catches the light, creating a play of shadow that breaks up the solid black mass.
- Botanical Contrast: The matte black finish acts as a void. It absorbs light, forcing the eye to focus entirely on the vibrancy of the plant life exploding from the top.
- Repetition Logic: While striking alone, these vessels find their true power in numbers. A line of three down the center of a dining table creates an architectural rhythm that replaces the need for a fussy centerpiece.
