CLASSIFICATION: Metalwork Service TECHNIQUE: Pierced Filigree | Antiqued Finish COMPOSITION: Set of Two (Nesting) ROLE: The Tabletop Stage
A tray is usually a utilitarian object—a flat surface designed to move items from Point A to Point B. This set rejects that simplicity.
Masterfully crafted with a warm, glowing antique brass finish, these trays feature intricate filigree detailing—a lacework of metal that recalls the heavy ornamentation of the Ottoman or Victorian eras. They do not merely hold objects; they frame them.
The pierced metal design creates a complex interplay of shadow and light on the table surface below. Whether holding a decanter of whiskey or a collection of perfumes, they transform the objects they carry into a still-life arrangement.

THE CURATOR'S NOTES
- The Shadow Play: The defining feature is the negative space. When placed under a lamp or in direct sunlight, the filigree casts an intricate, patterned shadow that effectively doubles the visual impact of the piece.
-
The Scale: This is a substantial pairing.
- The Large (20" W): Ample enough to serve as a primary bar station or coffee table anchor.
- The Medium (18.7" W): Perfectly scaled for a vanity or to corral mail on an entry console.
- Architectural Rails: The 2.2-inch raised gallery edge is not just decorative; it is a guardrail. It allows you to move drinks with confidence, knowing the architecture will prevent a spill.
- Material Warmth: The antique brass finish brings a necessary warmth to modern interiors. It cuts the sterility of marble counters and white linens.
