CLASSIFICATION: Cultural Textile Architecture (Artisanal and Ethical with Historical Silk Accents) CONSTRUCTION: Hand-Woven (Back-Strap Loom Technique) PROVENANCE: Almolonga, Guatemala (Non-Profit Partnership) SPECIAL FEATURE: Pink and Aqua Silk Accents ROLE: Permanent Luxuriant and Cultural Anchor
This pillow is an artifact of high-integrity production, distinguished by its unique material composition. It was woven by artisans using a back-strap loom, a time-honored, complex method of weaving.
The textile represents a fresh new color combination of a traditional textile from Almolonga, Guatemala. What makes it extra special are the pink and aqua silk accents. Silk was historically used in Guatemala until the 1960s, valued for its unparalleled richness, sheen, and brilliant hues. The silk used here was matched to the antique quality in the USA and added to this special design.
Crucially, the production of this textile is anchored in ethical partnership with a non-profit organization on Lake Atitlan, Guatemala.

- Ordering Protocol: The 20" x 20" size is made to order and requires an approximate delivery time of 8 weeks.
- Artisanal Integrity: The method of construction (back-strap loom) and ethical partnership ensure a high-integrity, consciously sourced textile.
